Nursery News November 17-21


Dear parents: This week the students will learn about Fruits and vegetables, they will learn the following words: Corn, tomato, broccoli, lettuce, pineapple, and, watermelon.


They will learn to identify and name the color white and the words: Snowman, polar bear, snowflake, egg, and, cloud.
We will read the story "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you Hear? by Bill Martin Jr., pictures by Eric Carle. 
For Show and tell on Thursday, please have your child bring one fruit and one vegetable that we will use to prepare a fruit salad and a green salad.

MIDTERM –Midterm Progress reports will be sent home next Friday, November 21. If you would like a conference with a teacher, and one has not been requested, please call the school to set up an appointment.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR – The School’s Community Service Club's will host a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 22, Get your early Christmas shopping done! Spread the word with your family and friends!

FUNDACION ABRIGO – Once again, Discovery School support Fundacion Abrigo in their mission to lodge families from the rural areas who come to Hospital Escuela. WE are asking our school families to send 1 gallon of in the disinfectant per family, and to send it in by Friday, November 21. What a wonderful way to show our gratitude for what we have – to share what we have with those in need!

DPTO FAMILY BINGO NIGHT – The DPTO will be hosting fun filled BINGO evening for Discovery families and friends on Friday, December 5. Incredible prizes are in store for those who attend! Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Tickets are only L100!

BOOK DONATION - Amor Fe y Esperanza (AFE) is an organization located on the outskirts of Tegucigalpa that has been rescuing children from the garbage dump and breaking the cycle of poverty in their lives. AFE is in the process of furnishing its library. We are asking for any new or used Spanish books (children’s books, novels, nonfiction, encyclopedias etc.) you might have and that you would like to donate to the AFE library.  These books can be brought and given to your homeroom teacher.  If you would like more information about AFE, please visit their website at www.afehonduras.org
